From Stans to the ski areas
Stans is right in the middle of Central Switzerland. Pick up your gear here and decide each day where to ski. Travel times are approximate.
Klewenalp
About 15 minutes by car to Beckenried, then up to Klewenalp by cable car. Slopes with views of Lake Lucerne, ideal for families.
Titlis
About 30 minutes by car or Zentralbahn train to Engelberg. The highest ski area in Central Switzerland, with a glacier, long runs and freeride slopes.
Brunni
About 30 minutes to Engelberg. Sunny family area with the Klostermatte beginner lift – right next to our Engelberg rental station.
Melchsee-Frutt
About 35 minutes by car to Stöckalp, then up by gondola. Snow-sure high plateau, ideal for families and cross-country skiing.
Andermatt
About 50 minutes by car via the A2 motorway. Large, snow-sure ski area at the Gotthard, with the Gemsstock for freeriders.
How it works
- Book online. Choose your dates and gear on Intersport Rent. Booking online is cheaper than renting in the shop.
- Pick up in Stans. Your gear is ready and adjusted for you. Pick it up the day before and head straight to the slopes in the morning.
- Ride and return. Bring it back to Stans during our opening hours after your last day on the slopes.

Prices and availability are shown when you book online.
Booking online is cheaper than renting in the shop. Breakage insurance is included, and groups of 10 or more get a price on request.

In Stans you can rent all year: in summer e-mountain bikes, mountain bikes, kids bikes as well as hiking and via ferrata gear.
Tip for families: With the combo pass (Kombi-Abo), kids get a season pass for Brunni, Klostermatte and Bannalp with their season rental.

- In the centre of Stans, Engelbergstrasse 37a.
- By car: Parking right at the shop.
- By train: Stans station on the Zentralbahn line (Lucerne–Engelberg), a few minutes on foot.
Frequently asked questions
When is the shop in Stans open?
Mon–Fri 08:15–12:00 and 13:30–18:30 · Sat 08:15–16:00 · Sun closed. You can book online at any time.
Do I need to book in advance?
No, you can simply drop by. If you book online, your gear is ready for you, you save time and you pay less than in the shop.
Can I pick up my gear the day before?
Yes. Pick it up during our opening hours and head straight to the slopes the next morning. Just let us know on +41 41 610 12 18 or by email to stans@achermannsport.ch.
What do I need to bring?
We ask for neither ID nor a deposit. To adjust your bindings, we ask for your height, weight, shoe size and skiing ability – the bindings are checked to bfu standards.
What is insured?
Breakage insurance is included in the rental price. In case of theft, a deductible applies. When booking online, you can add the cancellation option for CHF 5 per person and cancel until 12:00 the day before.
Can I rent avalanche safety gear?
Yes: avalanche safety kit with transceiver, shovel and probe, avalanche backpack, touring skis with skins, touring and telemark boots and snowshoes.
Can I also rent in summer?
Yes, in Stans you can rent all year: in summer e-mountain bikes, mountain bikes, kids bikes as well as hiking and via ferrata gear.
