Book online. Choose your dates and gear on Intersport Rent. Booking online is cheaper than renting in the shop, and you can book before the season starts.
Pick up. Your gear is ready and adjusted for you. Want to pick it up the evening before? No problem – just let us know on +41 41 637 10 60 or at engelberg@achermannsport.ch.
Ride and return. Bring it back to Engelberg by 17:00 on your last day – or drop it off at our shop in Stans on your way home.

Engelberg with kids

The Klostermatte beginner lift right next to our station is ideal for first turns: easy lifts, gentle slopes, and parents are only a few steps away from the gear.

Tip for families: With the combo pass (Kombi-Abo), kids get a season pass for Brunni, Klostermatte and Bannalp with their season rental.

Location and getting here

Right at the Brunni cable car and next to the Klostermatte beginner lift, Wydenstrasse 55. Ideal for Brunni, Klostermatte and as a starting point for ski tours.
By car: Klostermatte car park, right next to the Brunni cable car base station (around CHF 5 per day).
By train: In winter, a free bus runs from Engelberg station to the Brunni base station (about 5 minutes). On foot it takes about 20 minutes.
To Titlis: On Titlis days, pick up your gear at our station and take the ski bus to the Titlis base station.

Frequently asked questions

When is the rental station open?

Daily from 08:30 to 17:00 as soon as the Klostermatte lift is running. The start of the season depends on the snow. You can book online now.

Do I need to book in advance?

No, you can simply drop by. If you book online, your gear is ready for you, you save time and you pay less than in the shop.

Can I pick up my gear the evening before?

Yes. Just let us know beforehand on +41 41 637 10 60 or by email to engelberg@achermannsport.ch, and everything will be ready.

What do I need to bring?

We ask for neither ID nor a deposit. To adjust your bindings, we ask for your height, weight, shoe size and skiing ability – the bindings are checked to bfu standards.

Can I return the gear in Stans?

Yes. Our main shop at Engelbergstrasse 37a in Stans is on your way home and open all year.

What is insured?

Breakage insurance is included in the rental price. In case of theft, a deductible applies. When booking online, you can add the cancellation option for CHF 5 per person and cancel until 12:00 the day before.

Can I rent avalanche safety gear?

Yes, in Engelberg too: avalanche safety kit with transceiver, shovel and probe, plus touring skis with skins, touring boots and snowshoes.

Where can I go cross-country skiing in Engelberg?

Right across the road from our rental station: the Engelberg valley trail is about 25 kilometres long and follows the Engelberger Aa towards Eienwäldli and Herrenrüti. It can be done in short sections and suits beginners too. You need a trail pass, available online or at the pay booths at the Sporting Park and at the golf course. With the guest card it is free for overnight guests.

Is the rental station open in summer?

No, the Engelberg rental station is open in winter only. Bikes and mountain sports gear can be rented all year in Stans.
